As you may have already heard, the MHCLG have released guidance that places of worship will be permitted to open for private prayer from Saturday 13 June but must observe strict social distancing rules.
They have also provided a definition, additional guidance on precautionary measures and restrictions. Do visit their website to see the full article.
In recognising the challenge this may pose, Newham council have taken a number of initiatives to provide as much help as possible so that places of worship can make an informed decision to open or delay. We continue to advocate that you should only open if you are able to fully conform to the health and safety obligations including conducting a thorough risk assessment outlined in the MHCLG guidance.
Following the webinar hosted by our Public Health colleagues on Friday 12 June, we will be sharing the recording with you very shortly. We are looking to condense the size of the video so it does not clog in-boxes and can be shared easily.
